Haukur Snorrason has been involved in photography for close to 20 years. He specializes in landscape photography and has puplished two books on Icelandic Nature; Land of Light 1999 and Experience Iceland 2005. Haukur has been organizing and guiding phototours around Iceland in all seasons, for years. His books and photostock can be browsed through at www.photos.is

Nature, Hiking and Gourmet Cooking
Hadda Bjork, a marketing manager at the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, is a great lover of outdoor life and she uses every opportunity to go to the countryside for hiking and nature exploring. Hadda is known for her passion for cooking and interest in interior design.

The south interior of Iceland is a whole world of its own. There you can find magnificent placese like Lake Langisjor, a beautiful remote highland lake 20 km long and 2.5 km wide discovered in the 18th century, Landmannalaugar area and Fjallabak south and north route with variety of magnificent places. (4x4 vehicle required.)

Jokularlon glacier-lagoon is approx 2 hrs driving distance from Hrifunes guesthouse. The Lagoon began to form in early 20th century due to warmer climate. The ice that breaks from the galcier and floats around the lagoon can contain up to 1000 year old water. Boat trips amongst the icebergs are offered during the summer time.

Landmannalaugar are located in the south highlands of Iceland, approx 2 hrs driving distance from Hrifunes guesthouse (north fjallabak route). In Landmannalaugar you can find spectacular sights as well as fantastic hiking routes. (4x4 vehicle requiered.)

Many interesting places along the south shore are within close distance from Hrifunes guesthouse: The town of Vik with it´s black sand beach Reynisfjara, Dyrholaey which is great for puffin birdwatching, the waterfalls Seljalandfoss and Skogarfoss to name just a few.
